SAN DIEGO — Three suspected illegal immigrants who looked like they had just come off the beach were turned over to the Border Patrol early Tuesday in Torrey Pines.

San Diego police investigated two suspicious vehicles on North Torrey Pines Road about 4:13 a.m. and found three people inside one of the of them and two inside the other, San Diego police said.

Border Patrol agents determined that three men in one car were Mexican nationals who were illegally in the country, said Border Patrol Agent Mark Endicott. They were arrested and the two people in the other car were detained for questioning, Endicott said.

An abandoned boat was found in the surf just north of Torrey Pines State Beach and seized by authorities.
