Boehner: Time For Senate Dems Opposed to Exec. Amnesty To ‘Get Their Act Together’

    by Caroline May
    5 Feb 2015

House Speaker John Boehner again called on Senate Democrats who have expressed opposition to Obama’s executive amnesty to follow through and vote to allow legislation blocking the executive actions proceed to debate.

“Several times this week, Senate Democrats, including senators who claimed they opposed the President’s executive actions have voted to block debate on this bill,” Boehner told reporters Thursday. “I think it’s real simple: Republicans are standing with the people while Democrats are protecting the president. I don’t think the American people are going to forget these votes.”

Thursday, Senate Democrats for a third time blocked consideration of a House-passed Department of Homeland Security funding bill that halts Obama’s executive amnesty.

Boehner wouldn’t offer advice on what the next steps in the Senate should be, arguing that the House has already acted and now it is time for the Senate to “hold the president accountable,” particularly Senate Democrats opposed to the executive amnesty.

“How about all those Democratic senators who made comments in opposition to the president’s overreach with regard to executive actions continuing to vote to block debate,” he said “They aren’t even talking about amendments on the bill. They aren’t even allowing a debate to occur. It’s time for them get their act together.”

The House Speaker did offer some words of sympathy for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY).

“He’s got a tough job. He’s got a tough job over there,” Boehner said. “I’ve got a tough job over here. God bless him and good luck.”

I actually like this statement by Boehner. He's right. The solution is up to the blue-dog Democrats who know their constituents want amnesty stopped, who want illegal immigration stopped, who want excess immigration stopped, who want free trade treason and all its immigration components stopped. It's time for Democrats to stand up with their voters and constituents, not donors, and stop the madness. This insanity must end, and there should be at least 20 Democratic Senators voting with Republicans to stop this disaster, so why aren't you? Who do you care more for, a failed President who thinks he's the Pied Piper of Illegal Aliens, or the people of your state who elected you?

Obama has written his legacy, in every major domestic issue, he put failed solar energy no one wanted above oil that we all need; he put free trade above American workers and producers; he put illegal aliens above American citizens; he put welfare and subsidized healthcare above good jobs, higher wages and a balanced budget.

History is not kind to politicians who sell-out their own nation. And, they don't care what party or which Presidents.

Yes, John Boehner is very eager to do and say anything that distracts from the fact he is Obama's ally on this betrayal of the Constitution. This amnesty is being done in a way designed to bypass House Republicans and give the traitors in the GOP maximum political cover so they wont all end up like Eric Cantor.

Well, what do you expect from someone who invites Netanyahu and the Pope to address the US Congress in our Capitol Building? Boehner is a nut, but at least he's holding the line and standing his ground on Obama amnesty. He should have done more, he should have said different things at other times, but he is doing his job on this bill now, as are most Republicans.
