Six years ago, President Bush raised his right hand while swearing to uphold the United States Constitution. Along with him 100 senators and 435 representatives in Congress swore on the Bible to “defend and protectâ€

Great article. It's too bad that when our elected officials take the oath of office that some of them cannot uphold that oath. I think some just get caught up in the Beltway life and gradually forget there is world beyond the corrupt world of Washington D. C.

Then you have oldtimers like Ted Kennedy, who strong arm newbies into voting his way on bills. Fortunately for us, there are a few he can't intimidate, like Jeff Sessions (AL) for instance.

And fortunately, we have a special few who will let us know what is actually in some of these bills that they try to shove down our throats without giving America the time to digest them.

Many times we are guilty, too, by letting something slip by us because we don't feel it directly impacts our own life. I think now, though, that these Washington monkies have realized that when it comes to something as important as immigration, the people are going to be heard.

There's no slipping this scamnesty bill past the American people this time.
