ADL to start focusing on fighting anti-immigrant bias

BOSTON - The Anti-Defamation League of New England, which is primarily known for combating anti-Semitism, plans to put significant focus on the fight against what is says is rising hostility against immigrants.

Leaders of the ADL said they are alarmed at the animus toward immigrants that is surfacing as the country debates how to secure its borders.

”We fight against bigotry in all forms,” Andrew Tarsy, regional director of the ADL of New England, told The Boston Globe. ”It has become clear both in the extremist world and even in the mainstream that the conversation about immigrants is laced with bigotry.”

The ADL effort will include directly reaching out to immigrants, advocacy on state and local immigrant issues and monitoring hate activity in communities. The ADL also plans to meet with police chiefs and alert them of possible tension over immigrants in their communities.

On Thursday, the ADL will host its first immigrant-themed Passover Seder, titled ”Nation of Immigrants,” which will feature readings from the Book of Exodus and of stories of immigration throughout the dinner.

Tarsy said there has been an upsurge in anti-immigrant activity nationally among organizations such as the Ku Klux Klan. He said locally the ADL has received reports in the last week of hate literature about immigrants being distributed in southeastern Massachusetts.

Tarsy said a March 6 immigration raid at a New Bedford leather goods factory, and the consequences for families of arrested workers, ”put a human face on this abstraction everybody’s talking about.”

Regardless of one’s stance on border control and immigration laws, the raid demonstrated the need ”to treat people with greater compassion,” Tarsy said.

Tarsy said that minority groups gain power when they unite and that it is in the Jewish community’s interest to reach out to Hispanics, the fastest-growing minority group in the state.

Vanessa Calderon-Rosado, chief executive officer of Puerto Rican Tenants in Action, which is helping organize Thursday’s Seder, welcomed the ADL efforts.

”I don’t think there were many efforts in the past to bring together Latino and Jewish communities,” she said. ”We haven’t done a good job yet.”

The best thing the ADL could do if they really wanted to address anti immigrant sentiments would be to stop supporting illegal immigration like they are.

Those raids were for illegal aliens, not immigrants. The ADL has made it clear that they will not differentiate between legal and illegal immigrants. They have also made it clear that they wish to be a political combatant on the side of illegal aliens.

Therefore, their only real card to play is the race card. That is why they are claiming their is bigotry in the mainstream.

Translation: Mainstream America is in danger if they assert their opposition to illegal immigration because the ADL will seek to label anyone that stands for them as a bigot.

The ADL like the SPLC is insignificant and meaningless to me. Why are they given credence at all? Of course who is it that gives them credence in the first place? The MSM and our government. They also receive our tax dollars.

They, like many in our government, bow at the alter of multiculturalism and a push toward globalism. They work against our 1st amendment rights and a culturally strong America.

The liberal Jewish community all over America is super-sensitive to criticism of anything that even vaguely resembles profiling because of their catastrophic social history.

They don't seem to be able to differentiate between legal and illegal, between American and unAmerican, and they simply don't understand the dynamics and overwhelming negative prospects of the Hispanic invasion at all. This is a glaring fact here in California. It seems that no effort has been directed to clarify their perceptions and they are being swept into a position of enabling the illegal lobby by their rabbis.

If all of these special interest groups really wanted to help illegal immigrants they would pool the millions of dollars that they have, purchase an island and rebuild it to their specifications to accomodate all the baggage that comes with their "clients". My guess is it would consist primarily of jail cells to hold the majority of the population they are so passionate about rescuing.

Oh wait, that would mean taxing the illegals to subsidize their own co-dependent existence on freebies.

LEGAL IMMMGRANT....Enters the country through a port or border station with the permission of the UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT. PERIOD.

ILLEGAL ALIEN.... Sneaks into this country any way possible with out the permission of the UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT!!PERIOD.

Why is this so hard to understand!! A nation whithout laws is a nation in chaos, and this is why this nation is in chaos, because people refuse to enforce our laws.

We cannot change our laws to suit everyone that our laws don't suit!!

People from Mexico need jobs, people who rob banks need money I see no difference, so do we change the laws to make it ok to rob banks?????

Illegal immigration is just the tip of the ice berg and is being used to crush America so it can be rebuilt as one of the players in a one world gubermint. Illegals are also a great attention diverter, so it's their most valuable and efficent tool.

Our communistic gubermint has made it clear what they want by leaving our borders open, having two sets of laws, one for us and one for those who force their way into our country, by working hard to take our freedom of speech and expression away and sending our BP's to prison.


Let's not forget how buddy buddy we are with communist countries and how powerful the communist ACLU is in the USA. Heck our tax dollars even pay the ACLU's salary, the Communist ACLU and LaRaza is helping write up our new immigration laws. Our Republic is already gone, sit back and watch sometime how busy the ACLU is in taking our rights away. The iron hand of communism is already knocking us around. Do you think our gubermint is gonna stop at just competing financially with communist China? We're talking power and control here. We've been hearing a lot about the "decider" lately and all the secret meetings, so none of this surprises me.
