Border agents seize 37 pounds of meth
FABENS, Texas Two Mexican men were arrested for allegedly smuggling 37 pounds of crystal methamphetamine over the border and into Texas.
Customs officials today announced 23-year-old Roberto Lopez-Castillo and 26-year-old Antonio Duran-Ramo are in federal custody.
Investigators say the two apparently ditched their backpacks and darted into an irrigation ditch yesterday after realizing Border Patrol agents had spotted them.
Agents found the drugs in the bag and later located the men in an area west of the Fabens Port of Entry.
The drugs have an estimated street value of one-point-one (M) million dollars.
