Marginalized In American - Can You Handle The Truth?

And I ask myself today, what does the United States gain if it inherits the whole world but loses its soul? The soul that made this country a unique experiment a beacon for the whole world to envy. Today, the United States my ancestors and I knew no longer exists. In many ways, it has become similar to the aristocracies and totalitarian countries they fled.

Interesting article. I think America has become a victim of its own successes...with many of those successes only becoming possible when moving away from our founding intentions. The ensuing corrosion of this country has become increasingly prevalent since about 1950.

The Civil War flipped original intent on its head, making a strong, centralized government the center of power instead of having the real power rests among the states.

A federal income tax (along with a Federal Reserve system) was implemented in 1913, implicitly stating that the government is the true owner of your property, and if you wish to keep it you will pay taxes on it.

World War II transformed us into a global empire with a presence in 140 countries worldwide. We also set up international agencies like the UN and the IMF to further extend Washington's power.

As a country, our government is a lot like the drug dealer that sees the benefits of lucrative benefits of dealing, ignores the dangers of his acts, and doesn't mind the immorality of it all to get those rewards. Might makes right, which is what Lord Acton and Robert E. Lee predicted in their letters to one another way after the Civil War ended.

The only way to fix D.C. is to restore the idea of states' rights. The problem is that too many in both political parties want to use D.C.'s power to conduct social engineering experiments based on their respective agendas. States' rights are the only way for America to survive long term, much less thrive.

    Part One

    Yesterday and Today

As I sit here at my desk thinking about how I’ve seen the United States change since I was young boy in the 1950s, I remember the humble contentment, moral character and basic honesty of my immigrant forebears, who migrated to this country in the late 19th century.

They were looking for a better standard of living, no doubt, but they were also looking for something they lacked in Europe: freedom. Freedom to worship, freedom to work, freedom of thoughts, of speech, and freedom to keep their earnings and build a future for their families.

And although their experiences in America were far from perfect, they would look you in the eye and say: “None of the governments of Europe are worth a damn. I love this country.â€
