EAGLE PASS — Border agents have seized nearly $2 million worth of cocaine after discovering more than 60 pounds of the drug in the gas tank of a vehicle at an international crossing.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection said Tuesday the car driven by a 24-year-old Eagle Pass woman was stopped for further inspection at the Eagle Pass Port of Entry after officers saw discrepancies in the gas tank area.

Authorities say they discovered 25 packages in the gas tank with an estimated street value of $1.9 million.

Customs officers at the Eagle Pass Port of Entry turned the driver over to immigration authorities for further investigation.
