Border Patrol Agent Arrests MS-13 Gang Member

    (Monday, May 11, 2009)

Yuma, Ariz. – Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents arrested an admitted member of the Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang near downtown Yuma, Saturday afternoon.

Around 4:45 p.m., a Border Patrol agent patrolling near Arizona Avenue and 12th Street encountered a subject who admitted to illegally entering the country in April 2008. Upon further investigation, the subject, who is a Citizen of El Salvador, admitted to agents that he had been a member of the MS-13 gang since the age of 11.

Fingerprint checks on the subject indicated that he had a previous arrest for dangerous drugs from Suffolk County Police Department in New York. Checks also revealed that the Suffolk County Police Department had issued an active and extraditable warrant against the subject.

The admitted gang member was turned over to the Yuma Police Department for extradition on the warrant.

Those MS-13 gang members are like a bad rash that won't go away. They get arrested, convicted, serve time and get deported but they come back over and over again. In South Florida the gang units and various task forces have arrested the same people over and over again.

El Salvador has a solution for that problem when they get deport there. They have an unofficial police hit squad
that goes out and hunts them down and puts a bullet through there head. End of problem.

[quote]In El Salvador in the 1980s a vigilante group was known as Sombra Negra, or Black Shadow. They were extremely active in attempting to remove criminal elements from their society. It is believed that this group felt their judicial system was not apt at dealing with the nation’s problems, so they became what some would call “Self-appointed executioners of justice.â€
