Border Patrol Agent Shoots at Immigrants

    Feb 15th

EL PASO, Texas (AP) - Border Patrol officials are investigating a shooting at the Mexican border that involved one of their agents.

Doug Mosier, a spokesman for the Border Patrol's El Paso Sector, said an agent fired at least one shot at a group of would-be immigrants Tuesday night during a confrontation along the border near downtown El Paso.

The agent fired at least one shot after some of the immigrants began throwing rocks at him, narrowly missing the agent's head, Mosier said.

The immigrants ran from the border after the agent fired. Border Patrol officials do not believe anyone was injured, Mosier said.

The shooting is under investigation, though Mosier said initial reports show the agent fired in self-defense.

Last month a Border Patrol agent shot and killed a Mexican national in Arizona, drawing criticism from Mexico's president. The Border Patrol has said the agent thought his life was in danger and placed him on paid administrative leave.

The border agent life was in danger. Rocks can kill it is called stoning to death. What makes criminal aliens believe that they have right to come to america and throw rocks at our law enforcement officers. This is not Mexico and we don't want it to be!!!

One can't tell from the story whether it was the Border Patrol spokesman or the reporter, as I suspect, who originally used the term "would be immigrants" and referred to the suspects as "immigrants". But whoever, that is synonymous with referring to a gang of likely home invaders as dinner guests. It makes it sound like they, the suspects/perps/invaders, were invited in as lawful immigrants and then shot at -- just like maybe I invited Fred to dinner and then shot at him because he dropped the salad plate. Or worse yet, it makes it sound like there is an open invitation to everybody down at that border and nobody can/should be refused immigrant entry regardless of their intent or legality. Just wanted to point out the continuing not so subtle propaganda and attitude altering schemes in case anybody missed it, which they probably didn't.
