Border Patrol agent shoots and wounds man

SAN DIEGO – A rock throwing incident at the border in San Ysidro escalated into a shooting Tuesday night when a Border Patrol agent opened fire on a group of people in Mexico, striking one man in the torso, according to authorities.
Agents were patrolling the area at Virginia Avenue near the U.S. Mexico border fence about 10 p.m. when they were attacked by a group of people who threw large rocks at them, said San Diego police homicide Lt. Terry McManus.

The agents fired pepper balls and other chemical agents at the group in an attempt to disperse them before the agent fired his gun, McManus said.

The crowd then ran away.

A 23-year-old man was hit in the chest and was treated at a hospital in Tijuana, McManus said. His condition is not known.

McManus said the unidentified agent, who has been with the Border patrol for ten years, feared for his life and the safety of other agents when he fired his weapon.

Border Patrol supervising agent Richard Smith said Wednesday morning there have been 330 assaults on agents so far this year, compared to 254 reported incidents in all of 2007.

How long until we will be subjected to the pro-illegal invader advocates / mexico condemning the actions of this border agent because he feared for his life while being threatened with deadly force?

Well if Mexico can't keep control of its people, we have to.
Unfortunately for this BP agent, they will probably ship him to Mexico to answer for his actions, and I can just imagine him being thrown into some Mexican prison.

Tell that agent to get an attorney before the Bush administration finds out he shot at one of the drug runners with strong family connections.

First heard about this on Rick Roberts' show this morning. He talked with one of the BP agents in the area. The agent didn't have much more info however he did say the agents are threatened much more than the media reports. It was also discussed how what happened to Ramos and Compean is affecting their morale and performance but the agents here do have better support than under Johnny Sutton.

Illegal aliens are no longer afraid of BP agents, thanks to our traitorous federal government. They don't care if they kill any agents, they get a slap on the wrist and deported only to come back. We need to SEVERELY punish any illegal alien who even threatens a USBP agent.
