Hudspeth County- An early morning shooting involving a border patrol agent has local law enforcements searching for suspects.

Around 7:30 this morning, an agent pulled over a car for a traffic stop.

When approaching the car, a suspect inside the car allegedly opened fire.

The agent started shooting back, but the people in the car ran out on the south side of I-10 near Eagle Mountain Road into brush.

The office of customs and border patrol tells KFOX14 it's working with DPS and Parks and Wildlife to track down the suspects.

Officials say the agent was not injured.
