Border Patrol agents arrest Mexican man with 3 drunken driving convictions
by CBS 4 NewsWednesday, June 14th 2017
Border Patrol agents arrested a Mexican man with three drunken driving convictions Monday near Donna.
Agents arrested Jose Cesar Enriquez-De La Cruz, 38, a Mexican citizen who lived in Mission.
"The Defendant claims to have entered the United States on June 12, 2017, near Donna, Texas," according to the criminal complaint.
Enriquez has three drunken driving convictions in Hidalgo County:
On Aug. 16, 2002, Enriquez was convicted of driving while intoxicated, a Class B misdemeanor, according to Hidalgo County court records.
On Sept. 24, 2009, Enriquez pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated, a Class B misdemeanor, according to Hidalgo County court records.
County Court at Law Judge Federico "Fred" Garza sentenced him to time served.
On May 8, 2017, Enriquez pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated-third or more, a third-degree felony, according to Hidalgo County court records.
State District Judge Everardo Garcia sentenced Enriquez to eight years in prison, but suspended the sentence and placed him on probation for eight years.
"Records checks revealed the Defendant was formally Deported/Excluded from the United States on June 01, 2017 through Laredo, Texas," according to the criminal complaint.
Enriquez is now charged with illegal re-entry.
Attorney Fabian Guerrero, who represented Enriquez on the latest drunken driving charge, said his client probably wanted to rejoin family in the United States.
"He had a wife," Guerrero said, adding that Enriquez's wife and sister hired him to handle the drunken driving case. "I want to say he has children too."

And? Is this supposed to make everything excusable? These are just bullsh*t excuses. If his wife is illegal deport her butt right along with him, then there's no excuse in coming back.
