Border Patrol Agents Blast Chief for Backing ‘Amnesty Program’

    Tucson, AZ

The president of a local chapter of the National Border Patrol Council (NBPC) is blasting Border Patrol Chief Mark Morgan after he testified before the Senate Homeland Security Committee on Wednesday.

NBPC Local 2544 President Art Del Cueto took to Twitter during Chief Morgan’s testimony to blast the chief for politicizing his position and taking credit for things he did not do.

“Chief Morgan once again politicized his position,” Del Cueto tweeted on the local union’s Twitter account. “He just said the agency supports comprehensive immigration reform.”

Morgan responded to a question about how to fix the border security from U.S. Senator Tom Carper (D-DE). Morgan responded that he agreed with Senator Carper by stating that the Border Patrol supports comprehensive immigration reform, Breitbart Texas reported on Wednesday. “This is directly contrary to the voice and will of the vast majority of the Republicans elected to Congress,” NBPC officials wrote in the op-ed. “It is also directly contrary to President-elect Trump’s comments while on the campaign trail.”

Del Cueto tweeted, “Morgan is on record agreeing with everything Senator Carper says, basically a new amnesty program.”

He went on to state that the chief’s admission that releasing illegal immigrants would simply act as a magnate to encourage more illegal migration.

The local union president continued his attack on Chief Morgan tweeting, “Mr. Morgan now taking credit for changes that are coming with BPPRA is a complete insult. If he wants to help he needs to say when.”

He continued his tweets stating that all Border Patrol agents should be listening to what their chief was telling the U.S. Senate.

The NBPC national organization appeared to agree with the local chapter, tweeting, “Summary of today’s Senate hearing Morgan is doing a lot of looking but very little leading.”

The Border Patrol agency appeared to want to make sure union officials were not present to tell a differing side of the situation along our border. Breitbart Texas reported:

NBPC President Brandon Judd and his team worked diligently to set up a press conference after the hearing to discuss the merits of Morgan’s testimony. Agent Judd, however, was notified a few days ago that his appearance would be required to speak with an OPR Investigator as a witness regarding a matter of menial importance. This interview, which the agency refused to re-schedule ensured Agent Judd wouldn’t be able to be present at the hearing or the press conference. Morgan is worried because he knows that his comments attacking President-elect Trump’s border security policies prior to the election has him in hot water and his position as the Chief of the Border Patrol is tenuous at best. Because of such he did everything in his power to ensure Agent Judd was unable to be in DC when need be to dispute his testimony.

NBPC officials concluded their Breitbart Op-Ed stating, “Morgan — a hand picked Obama Administration official — does not have the will necessary to secure the border for the citizens and legal residents of this country.

Border Patrol Chief Mark Morgan should either resign immediately or be immediately fired by Donald Trump in January for supporting immigration reform amnesty for illegal aliens. No wonder our border is such a disaster!
