The family of a fallen Border Patrol agent is speaking out about rumors of several high ranking officials within the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives who are expected to be disciplined or removed from their positions as a result of the Fast and Furious case.
Although the Department of Justice and the ATF will not confirm the changes in staffing, the family of Brian Terry made the following statement about reports suggesting four senior managers affiliated with the Fast and Furious case face the possibility of termination.
“The news that an ATF disciplinary panel has recommended the firing of four senior managers found to be responsible for implementing the failed strategy of walking guns in the botched gun trafficking investigation known as Operation Fast & Furious is welcomed news,” the family said through a public relations firm.
“These officials lost sight of their primary mission which is to protect the American public and failed in their professional capacities as federal law enforcement officers,” they said.
Earlier this week, the Department of Justice announced that Gary Grindler, the Chief of Staff to the Attorney General since January 2011, would leave his position on December 5.
