Border Patrol Agents Find Abandoned Marijuana Near Yuma, Ariz.
(Monday, February 14, 2011)
Yuma, Ariz. — U.S. Border Patrol agents stationed in Yuma, Ariz. seized approximately 294 pounds of marijuana near Citrus Valley, just east of Gila Bend, yesterday.
Agents assigned to Wellton Station discovered an abandoned load of marijuana. Agents were conducting roving patrol duties when they located seven makeshift backpacks containing 13 bundles.
The marijuana, with an estimated street value of $235,488, was processed for destruction per Yuma Sector guidelines.
