TUCSON (3TV/CBS5)-- Border Patrol agents encountered 306 Central Americans in Arizona in less than 24 hours this week.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection said on Wednesday that agents from the Ajo Border Patrol station found 242 migrants, which is 15 miles west of Lukeville.

On Thursday morning, agents from the Casa Grande station found 64 migrants while patrolling the border on the Tohono O’odham Nation.

One pregnant woman and four children required immediate medical attention. Nine children had flu-like symptoms and were taken to a Tucson hospital for treatment.

On Friday, the Supreme Court rejected the Trump administration plan to enforce a ban on immigrants who cross the U.S.-Mexico border illegally.

Just days ahead of that decision, Customs Border and Protection said via Twitter that its processing system “has hit capacity.”

The agency tweeted Monday night that it’s because of “the influx of Central American family units arriving at US ports of entry without proper documentation and crossing US borders illegally ….”
