Border Patrol Agents Make Significant Arrest in Louisiana

Baton Rouge, La. – Vigilance by U. S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Baton Rouge, La. station resulted in the apprehension of an illegal alien from Iran with an extensive criminal history.

During routine transportation check Tuesday at the Baton Rouge Greyhound bus station, agents apprehended Jimmy Nassrian, a citizen and national of Iran. Record checks revealed that Nassrian had an active warrant out of Carson City, Nev. as well as prior arrest for burglary and larceny in Las Vegas. The subject was detained in Department of Homeland Security custody pending removal proceedings. No bond has been set.

“Public transportation such as buses and trains is commonly utilized by fugitives to move throughout the country, said William P. Hitchcock, assistant chief patrol agent. “Transportation check is one of many duties performed in the New Orleans sector to support the national strategy of Customs and Border Protection and to protect the people of the United States.â€
