TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Border Patrol agents of the Tucson Sector carried out four rescues and assisted with two civilian car accidents over the weekend.

Border Patrol agents of the Ajo Station received a call on Saturday from the Pima County Sheriff's Office reporting a group of four illegal aliens in distress. Ajo agents, team members of the Border Patrol Search, Trauma and Rescue (BORSTAR) and a CBP helicopter responded to the call and located the group. No one in the group suffered from serious injuries and all were taken into custody.

In another rescue on Saturday, agents assigned to the Nogales Station got a call from the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office reporting an illegal alien in distress. Nogales agents located the individual, determined that there was no need for additional medical treatment then took that person into custody.

Later that same day, agents of the Casa Grande Station seized a group of 15 illegal aliens and noticed a female in the group suffering from severe dehydration. After agents provided initial medical care, they decided it would be in her best interest to seek further medical attention. She was transported via Life Net helicopter to a hospital in Tucson.

The Pima County Sheriff's Office and Border Patrol agents working State Route 83 checkpoint responded to a motorcycle accident one mile south of the checkpoint. First aid and traffic control were provided and the victim of the accident was transported for further medical attention via Life Flight air ambulance.

On Sunday, a male driver near Why, Ariz. was involved in a single vehicle accident. He received massive injuries to the arm. Also in the vehicle was a young female passenger who fortunately walked away from the accident with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle was flown by Life Net to a hospital in Tucson.

Air interdiction agents in a CBP helicopter overseeing the Casa Grande area discovered a desert fire and an illegal alien in need of medical attention, early Monday morning. A Border Patrol agent, certified as an EMT treated the individual then called for emergency medical services (EMS) to transport the subject to a hospital in Sells, Ariz. for further medical attention.

The Border Patrol welcomes assistance from the community. To anonymously report suspicious activity you can call 1-877-872-7435. All calls will be answered.
