Laredo Border Patrol Agents Return Murder Suspect to Mexico

Laredo, Texas – Laredo Sector Border Patrol agents turned a homicide suspect over to Mexican authorities today.

Alejandro Hernandez-Portilla, 33, a Mexican national from the state of Hidalgo, Mexico, was arrested earlier this week in Hill County, Texas on a DUI charge. Hill County authorities identified Hernandez-Portilla as an undocumented alien and turned him over to Border Patrol agents assigned to Laredo Sector’s Dallas station.

During processing, the agents positively identified Hernandez-Portilla as the subject of a homicide warrant issued by a judge in Hidalgo, Mexico.

Laredo Sector Border Patrol Agents contacted Mexican authorities and made arrangements to return Hernandez-Portilla to them.

This afternoon, Laredo Sector Border Patrol agents escorted Hernandez-Portilla to the U.S.-Mexico border and handed him over to Mexican officials.
