A tip from a concerned citizen led U.S. Border Patrol agents in Donna, Texas, to a stash house packed with 29 illegal aliens from throughout Central American and Mexico. One Mexican national was arrested for possible human smuggling charges.

Border Patrol agents working with the Hidalgo County Precinct 1 Constable’s Office responded to a call of suspicious activity in the border community of Donna. When the agents arrived at the home, a Mexican man answered the door and gave permission for the agents and deputies to enter and search the home.

Agents found a large group of illegal immigrants who were being housed in filthy and unsanitary conditions, a statement from U.S. Customs and Border Protection obtained by Breitbart Texas revealed.

Inside the home were 29 illegal immigrants from El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Ecuador, and Mexico. The Mexican man who was operating the stash house was arrested and taken to the Rio Grande Valley Sector Prosecutions office where he is expected to face federal human smuggling charges.

The RGV Border Patrol Sector has been running a campaign asking residents of local communities to report suspicious activity.

“This is another prime example of how the public plays a vital role in our endeavor to keep our communities safe,” RGV Sector Chief Patrol Agent Manuel Padilla Jr. said in a written statement. “We continue to strongly encourage the community to report all suspicious activity to 800-863-9382.

It’s a toll free call and it’s anonymous”.

Breitbart Texas has repeatedly reported on the abuses of the illegal immigrants carried out by their human smugglers. In addition to warehousing their human cargo in unsanitary and inhuman conditions, smugglers will frequently beat the men and rape women as a form of intimidation and control. They will hold the immigrants hostage and demand more money from their families to allow them to continue on their journey.
