Border Patrol arrests wanted immigrants

EDINBURG — U.S. Border Patrol announced the apprehension of seven immigrants with outstanding warrants for a number of crimes.

On Monday agents in Brownsville arrested a group of undocumented immigrants and during the processing discovered that one of them had an outstanding warrant from Mexico for a jail breakout at La Paloma prison in Nuevo Laredo. The man must first face immigration charges before being sent back to Mexico.

On Sunday, authorities apprehended an undocumented immigrant from Mexico who ended up having outstanding warrants from Waukegan, Ill., on three counts of murder. He was turned over to the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office pending his transfer to Illinois.

On Saturday, agents in Falfurrias arrested an undocumented immigrant who had a warrant from Atlanta on a charge of vehicular manslaughter. He was turned over to U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement. ... rests.html
