A Border Patrol Agent's SUV is broken into when he turns his back to try to catch an illegal immigrant. It happened around 12:30 on Thursday afternoon near the Rescue Mission on Paisano.

The agent left his car momentarily, when he spotted an illegal immigrant. By the time the agent got back, someone had thrown a rock through the window of his SUV. Border Patrol says they made off with some service equipment and personal items. Both the burglar and illegal immigrant were able to get away. No word if the two incidents are related.

Border Patrol says this is another example of the growing violence along the border. So far this year, agents have been assaulted more than 60 times.
