Border Patrol, police field complaints over rights violations

TUCSON, Ariz. U-S Border Patrol and Tucson police representatives fielded complaints tonight alleging abusive treatment.

They took time this evening to assure residents that the agencies are accountable.

At a community forum sponsored by the immigrant rights organization Border Action Network, Border Patrol officials urged anyone who believes that agents violated the law or their civil rights to call the agency and ask for a supervisor.

The director of the Border Action Network says the meeting was part of a continuing dialogue aimed at reaching accountability for human and civil rights in border communities nationwide.
