Border Patrol Rescues Continue

CARRIZO SPRINGS, Texas U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Carrizo Springs Station, along with the Border Patrol Search Trauma and Rescue (BORSTAR) performed two separate rescues, Aug. 13.









BORSTAR agents and Carrizo Springs EMTs began to treat the subject for heat stress and air evacuation was requested.“

The South Texas heat continues to hover around 100 degrees, amplifying the dangers of entering the United States illegally,” said Del Rio Sector Chief Patrol Agent Austin L. Skero, II. “Our agents continue to act swiftly with compassion and dedication to prevent needless tragedy, and I am extremely proud of them.”

At approximately 12 noon, agents assigned to the Carrizo Springs Station responded to a 911 call of two possible illegal aliens that were lost on a ranch near Carrizo Springs.

With the help of BORSTAR they were quickly able to locate the two subjects, one of whom was in distress. BORSTAR agents and Carrizo Springs EMTs began to treat the subject for heat stress and air evacuation was requested. Once air evacuation arrived, the subject was transported to a local hospital and were treated for severe dehydration.

Shortly after the first call, agents received another call, reporting a woman who was lost and in distress. Carrizo Springs agents and BORSTAR agents quickly responded and were able to locate the lost subject. The woman quickly became extremely ill and agents treated her while en route to a local hospital.

All illegal aliens are processed per CBP guidelines.
