Border Patrol Stops Drug Load after Smugglers Ramp over Border Fence
Tecate, Ca. — Border Patrol agents seized nearly a ton of marijuana and seized two vehicles yesterday after agents spotted two vehicles jump over the border fence using a ramp system, five miles east of Tecate, Calif.
The agents followed a Chevrolet Suburban and Ford F-150 west on State Route 94 before the drivers abruptly turned south and headed toward the Tecate port of entry. The drivers then separated and drove in two different directions near the port in an effort to elude agents.
Agents used a controlled tire deflation device to deflate the Suburban’s tires and stop the vehicle. The driver continued on flat tires until crashing into a fence. The driver abandoned the vehicle and absconded to Mexico. The other driver crashed into a ditch near the border fence, where agents arrested him. Agents searched the vehicles and found a total of 226 cellophane wrapped bundles of marijuana. The total weight of the marijuana is 1,850 pounds worth $1.5 million.
San Diego Chief Patrol Agent Michael J. Fisher commented, “This significant drug seizure exemplifies smugglers’ disregard for our laws and the safety of the general public.

If smugglers try to ramp over a fence to bring in drugs, just think of how many are actually getting in where there is no fence.
We must be persistent in getting a fence built. At least that makes the odds a little bit better in our favor.
What's next? Maybe they will try shooting the illegals out of a cannon onto our side of the border.
