Border Patrol wrapup: Felons apprehended

A summary of Border Patrol activities in the Tucson Sector since Friday, provided by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Arrests

Naco Station agents from apprehended a 28-year-old man from Mexico for illegally entering the United States on Friday. Record checks revealed he was convicted in Phoenix for burglary, felon in possession of a firearm, marijuana possession, and forgery. He was held for federal prosecution for re-entry of a felon.

Douglas Station agents apprehended a 47-year-old man from Mexicali, Baja California, on Saturday for illegally entering the United States. During processing, agents learned he is affiliated with the Sureño 13 street gang and has convictions in California for burglary, petty theft, battery on a spouse, and possession of a controlled substance. He was held for federal prosecution for re-entry of a felon.

Naco Station agents apprehended a 23-year-old Mexican man for illegally entering the United States on Sunday morning. Record checks revealed he is connected to the Norteño street gang and was convicted twice for driving under the influence in Mesa and Gilbert. In 2007, he was arrested in California for possession of a dangerous weapon. He was held for prosecution.

Rescues

Casa Grande Station agents responded to a rescue beacon Friday and found three Mexican men who admitted to entering the United States illegally. After a medical evaluation, the men were transported to the station for processing and removal.
