Who deserves to be in United States

    Sue Trudeau
    Fort lauderdale

    January 29, 2006

How quickly Americans forget that their ancestors are not native to this land. In a recent South Florida Sun-Sentinel poll asking whether Haitian immigrants should be returned to their unstable homeland, the majority of responders (including many proud Christians, no doubt) replied that if they don't qualify to live here they should be returned.

What qualifies a person to be eligible to live in the U.S.? There should be no criteria, all should be welcome. Because you might not be living here if it weren't for our open borders and hope for a better life. Are you a first generation American? Second generation? Does it really matter?

I'm so disgusted with people who assume that they are better than others in this world we all occupy. This country is founded on the principle that we are all equal. It's long past the time that we practice that God-given right and treat everyone with equal respect.

O...that 'we're all immigrants' crap again!! Can't they figure out that the space and the infrastructure will accomodate only so many human beings on the American continent?? Who should be here?? For heaven's sake..the people who built it should be here...

This argument is so thin and so stupid...how on earth does it qualify for any ink??

Sue Trudeau, Fort lauderdale, doesn't seem to understand that we WHO ARE HERE LEGALLY are all equal.

Those here illegally should begin packing. Sooner or later there'll be a knock on those doors.

I don't understand why France doesn't let in more Hatian immigrants, instead of all the Muslims who don't want to assimilate. After all, Haiti is a former French colony, and most Haitians speak at least some French. We could even send illegal Haitians directly from here to France!
