Both sides on immigration issue march in Seattle
http://www.wluctv6.com/Global/story.asp ... nu134_2_10
SEATTLE (AP) - With Congress set to do battle this week over immigration laws, the issue was debated yesterday in the streets of Seattle.
Dozens of demonstrators who oppose the president's plan for immigration overhaul marched to the Federal Building with American flags and signs that read, "no amnesty." They're demanding tougher border security to keep illegal immigrants out of the US.
Their protest prompted a counter-demonstration by people who'd been marching in a Seattle gay-pride parade. One member of that group says the anti-immigration bill demonstrators are bigots.
But opponent Bob Baker, says it's not a partisan issue. He says it's simply about "standing up" for the country and opposing those who would do it harm."Ask not what your country can do for you --ask what you can do for your country" John F. Kennedy

Seattle was a wonderful place to be yesterday. There were indeed dozens of our supporters marching from the Space Needle to the Federal Building--probably a little more than a mile.
There were very few counter-demonstrators across the street.
