boycott: Budweiser, Coca Cola, State Farm and McDonald's
All along the freeways and along 7th Street in Phoenix are their billboards: in Spanish. Coke and Budweiser are the worst, showing the MEXICAN national soccer team celebrating a victory. Phoenix has a player on the US men's team. The majority of Phoenicians are disgusted by these ads, and protests bring comments like: 'we're just appealing to the community'. Well, in the barrio maybe, but the ads are placed throughout the arts district, where any Hispanics are legal and speak English. Switch to Miller, Pepsi, Burger King and some other insurance company--and tell them why. Mexicans BOOED the US national team at the Gold Cup tournament in California--but more than that, they did not stand quietly respectful for the US national anthem--even though many were American citizens. The US team's goalie expressed outrage that the closing ceremony was done in Spanish and was LAMBASTED by the media. He plays in the English Premier League, where fans are notoriously rough on opposing teams. But even crazy English fans don't show disrespect for other nations' anthems. The Mexican fans threw feces and urine at the players and did much more that was utterly barbaric. 88% of the nation IS NOT HISPANIC AND DO NOT WANT A SPANISH-SPEAKING NATION. Spanish is not a language of business, scholarship, or science. There are other languages that are, and many Americans prefer to learn those languages--or may simply not enjoy Spanish, which is not a godly gift but simply one of several languages descending from Latin. It is NOT more 'romantic' or 'poetic' or 'passionate' or 'imaginative'--that's all nonsense. All languages use metaphor and poetry and have old proverbs and sayings; the greatest selling authors of all time have all been from England--Shakespeare, JRR Tolkien, Agatha Christie, JK Rowling. Passion is about more than gyrating sex. Romeo and Juliet and Casablanca are certainly passionate! [/b] There's nothing wrong with Spanish--we just don't want it thrust on us, and we in Phoenix do not live in Mexico and are disgusted when iconic American brands show the Mexican national team while claiming things like 'America's Lager'. These companies just want money. Keeps yours from them--Budweiser, McDonald's, State Farm, and Coca Cola. Thanks you.

Thanks! I just read the article that Miller beer donates to pro-illegal alien groups. I wouldn't have suggested them as a substitute for Budweiser if I'd known!

Welcome to ALIPAC, Elly51 and thanks for sharing with us what some of our stupid corporations are doing! I agree with you 100%! This is America, English is our language, if you're here legally learn to speak it, if you're here illegally get out and go home.
