Brownback votes both ways on advancing immigration bill

    http://www.newschannel10.com/global/story.asp?s=6726409

WASHINGTON (AP) - Senator Sam Brownback says there was no flip-flopping when he voted both ways on a compromise immigration bill today.

The Kansas Republican first voted for advancing the bill, then switched his vote about ten minutes later. In the end, the bill failed to get the 60 votes needed to move it forward.

Brownback says the switch was meant to show he supports comprehensive immigration reform but thinks the measure backed by President Bush is the wrong way to go about it.

Kansas Republican Pat Roberts also voted against moving the bill forward.

Last year, Brownback came out for a bill that would have given millions of illegal immigrants a chance to become citizens. He now says he favors an approach that emphasizes strong enforcement and creates an effective guest worker program.

Brownback pulled the sneaky-snake because he realized he was on a sinking ship! Snakes do not go down with the ship, especially if they aspire to be the head snake.

Brownback supported S. 2611, and he would have supported this amnesty bill if it would have been to his advantage to do so. He's an amnesty man, through and through.

Yeah, right Sam. You voted for it before you voted against it, correct???

You'll have even more in common with John Kerry soon, you'll both have wanted to be president and failed.
