Brownsville Agents Arrest Convicted Child Predator

Release Date: October 14, 2020

BROWNSVILLE, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents identify a child predator shortly after he illegally entered the United States.

Yesterday, Brownsville agents witnessed several subjects running north in an area well known for human smuggling attempts. Agents secured the perimeter of a field, and a search ensued. After a thorough search, agents arrested 10 illegal aliens. The subjects were transported to the station for processing.

During processing, record checks for a Mexican national, later identified as Abad TORRES-Villanueva, revealed a previous arrest by the Brownsville Police Department (BPD). BPD charged him with aggravated sexual assault of a child and a judge subsequently found him guilty. TORRES-Villanueva was sentenced to five years confinement.

Border Patrol processed TORRES-Villanueva accordingly.

The public is encouraged to take a stand against crime in their communities and report suspicious activity at 800-863-9382.

Even with the spread of the COVID-19 virus, human smugglers continue to try these brazen attempts with zero regard for the lives they endanger nor to the health of the citizens of our great nation. The U.S. Border Patrol agents of the Rio Grande Valley Sector will continue to safeguard the nation and community against these criminal elements.
