CBP to Provide Manpower, Expertise for Presidential Inauguration Events

CBP Officers, Agents, Air & Marine Assets, K-9 Teams to Participate

Washington – Several hundred U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents and officers will be deployed across the Washington, D.C., metro area to assist in securing events surrounding the inauguration of President-elect Barack Obama, as well as participating in the Inaugural Parade. Beginning January 17, CBP will provide Border Patrol agents and Field Operations officers, Air & Marine assets and personnel, and K-9 teams to augment the efforts of the U.S. Secret Service and other public safety agencies.
