Ask These Families About the Impact of Illegal Aliens?

Ask These Families About The Impact Of Illegal Aliens?
    By Jeff Wagner

A few years ago, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Editorial Board went on a crusade to try to change immigration laws. This has resulted in one editorial after another extoling the virtues of illegal aliens.

Frankly, the editorial writers seem to me to be a lot more interested in this issue than the vast majority of their readers. The writers also strike me as being more than a little out of touch on this question. That's okay though, I guess we all have agendas to pursue and windmills to tilt at.

In any event, a couple of months ago the Editorial Board claimed that it "is an anomaly" when an illegal alien commits a crime. I wonder how the victims of Juan Carlos Rojas-Sierra and Jose Rodriguez feel about these "anomalies"?

Jose Rodriguez is the guy who hit and killed 4 year old MacKenzie Maddox as she crossed the street in West Allis with her mom last June. Her mother, Andrea Maddox, was seriously injured in the incident. Rodriguez had been deported in February and had illegally re-entered the country a short time afterwards. He did not have a valid driver's license at the time of the collision and had four prior traffic violations, including drunk driving!

Rodriguez received a nine-month sentence (the maximum) for killing MacKenzie while driving without a valid license. He is also subject to Federal prosecution for entering the country after deportation. After he ultimately gets out of prison, he'll be sent back to Mexico (where he'll probably stay for about 5 minutes before heading back across the border).

What the heck? Where is manslaughter charges? What country are we in?

Juan Carlos Rojas-Sierra is also an illegal alien from Mexico. He is accused of breaking into an apartment in a housing complex in Waukesha and raping a 28-year-old disabled woman. Rojas-Sierra was on probation for domestic abuse at the time of the alleged rape.

Why he wasn't deported after he went through the system the first time would be a good question to ask authorities?

I don't know whether or not, from a purely statistical perspective, illegal aliens are more likely to commit crimes than U.S. citizens? Of course, being in this country without proper documentation in the first place would seem to raise a question about how law-abiding some folks are in the first place.

Maybe the newspaper is correct and illegal aliens who rape disabled women and hit children while driving without a valid license are, in fact, "anomalies". Nevertheless, I can't help but wonder wonder how the victims' families feel about these "anomalies"?

They showed these new scanners on local TV news last night in San Diego. They seem to work really well. They have already busted people with drugs and illegals in their cars while they were testing it.
    NO AMNESTY

Don't reward the criminal actions of millions of illegal aliens by giving them citizenship.
