Man shot and killed at Costco by Police

We had an incident here in Las Vegas a few weeks ago and I have waited for the video tapes to come from either the police or costco....but it seems they don't want to release them and figured it was time to let you all know what happened. At this point I am not shopping at Costco until this mess is cleared up and the truth comes out...not some made up story about this shooting that happened on a early Saturday afternoon... they claimed he was destroying stuff in the store but can't get it verified because...."NO TAPES"

I am not saying the police were wrong but to many people too many stories and the truth is not getting out....

The comments below say how many people feel....this is just the latest in information and comments coming out the story has been going on for over a week or more..and we just had another officer shooting again.....

The dead man was 39 and a West Point Grauduate.

Did he actually 'damage' COSTCO merchandise?

Did he actually pull his weapon and point it?

    Something wrong here.

    His one fatal mistake

The one fatal mistake that this fine young man made was allowing his legally concealed weapon to be seen when he bent over. After that, everything spiralled out of control. When I took my CCW classes, it was repeatedly stressed that you NEVER allow your weapon to be seen in public, for this very reason.... that people will overreact. That is apparently what happened here. I think the Costco employee that called 911 exaggerated the circumstances. I don't think there is any evidence that Eric was doing anything out of the ordinary in his shopping behavior. Probably when he exited the store with the rest of the customers (under a fire alarm alert), he had no idea that he was being targeted as a threat. One witness, who I believe is an attorney said that two police officers had their guns drawn even before Eric left the store. So they were under the false notion that a dangerous man was coming out. How sad.

I shop at this Costco regularly and so does my son who also carries a CCW. We will no longer be shopping at Costco. At least until the individual who called 911 is exposed and the entire investigation is made public and the
    truth comes out.

People don't realize that when someone carries a legal concealed weapon, they have made a commitment to place themselves in harm's way to protect not only themselves and their families from predators, but ANY individual who's life is in jeopardy. I carry that commitment and determination every time I leave the house with my weapon.
