POSTVILLE - A Postville church plans to mark one-year since the immigration raid at Agriprocessors.

On May 12th, 2008 immigration officials arrested 389 people there.

St. Bridget's Catholic Church became a refuge for community-members during the commotion.

On May 12th, 2009 the church will host a prayer vigil and walk calling for immigration reform, just labor practices, and an end to raids.

The event starts at 3:30 that Tuesday afternoon.

3:30 Tuesday afternoon? That is a good time for employers to look seriously at employees who call in sick or request the day off. One small food and delicatessen place in Bonita Springs fired all its employees that attended the May Day rallies and didn't show up for work when they were supposed to.
