Border Patrol Weekly Blotter: November 26 - December 2

Border Patrol agents seized over 8,145 pounds of marijuana. Agents arrested 10 criminal aliens and 8 gang members. There were 2 rocking incidents.

El Centro Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico at the bus station near Indio, California. The subject was identified as the driver of a vehicle involved


in an accident that resulted in one fatality and several injured parties. State law enforcement officials assumed custody of the subject.


El Paso Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico and seized 352 pounds of marijuana near Fort Hancock, Texas. Records checks revealed the subject was a Northside 15th Avenue gang member and had an extensive criminal history, to include a conviction for armed robbery in the State of Arizona. The subject had also been previously removed from the United States.


Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents, in conjunction with local law enforcement officers, extracted a submerged Ford Grand Marquis from the Rio Grande River near La Joya, Texas. A total of 1,227 pounds of waterlogged marijuana was discovered in the vehicle.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,869 pounds of marijuana and a 2005 Chevrolet pickup truck near Why, Arizona. An agent observed the vehicle driving through the desert without headlights and agents responded to the area. A search revealed the abandoned vehicle with the marijuana inside.

Blaine Sector – A Border Patrol agent arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Port Angeles, Washington. During the arrest, the subject became combative and assaulted the agent. The agent subdued the subject and effected the arrest. Records checks revealed the subject had an extensive immigration history and had been previously removed from the United States.


San Diego Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Pine Valley, California. During processing, the subject admitted to being a Mara Salvatrucha 13 (MS-13) gang member. Records checks revealed he had a criminal history and had been previously removed from the United States.

Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,151 pounds of marijuana and a 2002 Ford truck near Cockelbur, Arizona. Agents observed a truck being driven through the desert without headlights, and shortly thereafter, discovered the abandoned vehicle containing 53 bundles of marijuana.

Rio Grande Valley Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,562 pounds of marijuana and a 1998 Ford van near Weslaco, Texas. Agents encountered the abandoned vehicle parked near a highway and subsequently discovered 18 bundles of marijuana inside.


Swanton Sector – Border Patrol agents detained a United States Citizen (USC) after he illegally entered the United States near Derby Line, Vermont. Records checks revealed the subject had an arrest warrant for six charges of sexual assault on a child in the State of Colorado.

San Diego Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Otay Mesa, California. During processing, the subject admitted to being an 18th Street gang member, and records checks revealed he had an extensive criminal history.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested two illegal aliens from Mexico near Pan Tak, Arizona. During processing, both subjects admitted to being Sureño 13 gang members. Records checks revealed both had extensive criminal histories and had been previously removed from the United States.

Del Rio Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico and seized 291 pounds of marijuana near Brackettville, Texas. During processing, the subject admitted to being a Paisas gang member.


Tucson Sector – Border Patrol agents seized 1,280 pounds of abandoned marijuana near Nogales, Arizona. The subjects carrying the bundles absconded and abandoned the marijuana as agents and Customs and Border Protection air assets attempted apprehension.


Yuma Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from El Salvador near Needles, California. Records checks revealed the subject had an arrest warrant for burglary in the State of California as well as a prior conviction for lewd and lascivious acts with a child in the State of California.

Del Rio Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico and seized 413 pounds of marijuana near Comstock, Texas. Agents followed footprints and encountered the subject and the marijuana. Records checks revealed the subject was a Paisas gang member and had been previously removed from the United States.


El Centro Sector – Border Patrol agents arrested an illegal alien from Mexico near Calexico, California. Records checks revealed the subject had an arrest warrant in the State of California for sex with a minor, and had also been previously removed from the United States
