A previously deported felon led authorities on a high-speed chase Wednesday evening from Thousand Oaks to Encino, authorities said.

Deputies stopped a sport utility vehicle driven by Jose Flores, 40, about 6 p.m. for a traffic violation on Rancho Conejo Boulevard in Thousand Oaks, Ventura County Sheriff's Department Capt. Frank O'Hanlon said.

While deputies were identifying him, Flores drove onto southbound Highway 101, O'Hanlon said.

California Highway Patrol officers followed Flores for about 25 miles at speeds up to 90 mph before he exited the highway at White Oak Avenue in Encino, authorities said.

Officers performed a "police intervention technique" by pushing Flores' vehicle and bringing it to a stop near Margate Street at 6:40 p.m., O'Hanlon said.

Flores was not injured and was arrested on suspicion of immigration violations and offenses related to the chase, authorities said.

O'Hanlon did not provide information about where Flores lived or the nature of his felony conviction
