March 30, 2009
The Monterey County Sheriff's Office reports that the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Division of hte U.S. Department of Homeland Security conducted an immigration status operation at the Monterey County Jail.
Of the 1,000 inmates currently housed at the jail, the office said, ICE identified nearly 300 inmates whose criminal convictions may fall within the parameters of deportation laws.
Of those 300, 122 were interviewed, the office said, and 68 were identified for deportation after having served their sentences in Monterey County and appearing at a deportation hearing.

Our county sheriff recently conducted a similar count. He reported that 21% of his population for illegal aliens. And half of our county murders in the last year were committed by illegal aliens.

So 30% of those in custody fell within the parameters of our deportation laws! This would seem like a pretty compelling argument in favor of 287(g)! Or do the numbers of illegals within our jails need to exceed 50% before we will make 287(g) mandatory!

What we see as illegal aliens who are committing a disproportionate number of crimes.....violent or not.......ARE viewed by their advocates as people who HAVE simply come here to work and are merely conducting themselves per their culture.
That's how things are done in THEIR countries and they just don't know any other way of life.
That's why it is so very important that Americans learn to be tolerant and accepting of such differences......it's who and how they are as a people and it is we who must learn to live with that.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)
