Update: LAPD seeks man and vehicle connected to slaying of cousins
October 6, 2009 | 10:06 pm

Last week, the Homicide Report wrote about Isidro Meza-Rojas, 28, and Guillermo Mendoza-Rojas, 21, cousins who were shot and killed Saturday, Sept. 26 at 2:30 a.m. in the 20900 block of Gresham Street in Canoga Park.

According to a statement released by the LAPD, witnesses said the cousins had argued with two other men in the courtyard of an apartment complex. Those men have now been identified as Salvador Flores, 25, and Juan Luis Sanchez Ramirez. Authorities believe one of the men pulled a gun and shot Meza-Rojas and Mendoza-Rojas, who both died at the scene.

Police said it was unclear what precipitated the argument that led to the shooting. Flores and Sanchez Ramirez then allegedly fled in a stolen vehicle, a 1991 Mazda MX6 with California license plate 6DWE375.

On Sept. 27, LAPD officers apprehended Flores at the San Ysidro border crossing. He was taken into custody by Devonshire Division detectives and later booked and incarcerated in the Devonshire jail, where he currently remains on an immigration hold.

Sanchez Ramirez is still at large and is considered to be armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information about the killings or about the whereabouts of Sanchez Ramirez is asked to call the LAPD Devonshire Division homicide detectives at (81 832-0554.
