Prison for illegal alien who beat, blinded elderly woman in California

On Wednesday, Jose Perez-Gonzalez, 31, was sentenced to 11 years and eight months in San Mateo County Superior Court for a brutal attack on a 78-year-old widow which left the woman blind.

In December, the illegal alien was convicted of attempted robbery, residential burglary, mayhem, assault with a deadly weapon, elder abuse and possession of stolen property.

On January 12, 2008, Perez-Gonzalez, who was living in San Francisco, broke into the victim’s home through a rear patio door. When confronted by the woman, he beat her repeatedly in the face with a metal pry bar. The beating was so severe, that the woman was permanently blinded.

When Perez-Gonzalez pried-open the back door, he set-off a silent alarm, alerting police. By the time they arrived, the woman was near death, and her attacker had already fled the scene.

The woman now lives in a nursing home.

Police were able to trace the illegal alien back to his hometown of Guadalajara, and Mexican police arrested him in November 2008.

In December, Parsons convicted Perez-Gonzalez of attempted robbery, residential burglary, mayhem, assault with a deadly weapon, elder abuse and possession of stolen property.

Perez-Gonzalez may be employed as a house painter ...the burglar had apparently telephoned the victim earlier in the day and posed as a package deliveryman in an effort to determine when the woman was going to be home, police said.

"This was not a random burglary,"Morena said. But he added that police suspect the burglar tried to strike when no one was home.

In times of trouble they always run back home to Mexico don't they IMO they need to lock his cell door and throw away the key.

11 year sentence is a joke. Should have been 25 or more. He probably got 11 because he will be deported. Then he will jump that border and continue his criminal activities.

One thing Americans don't consider is that in Mexico women are raped with no recrimination. The women just consider it a way of life and the police have so many other pressing issues that they just don't bother with trying to catch the guy. Then those rapists come here and as far as they are concerned, Or they don't really care, they commit crimes here. Our problem is we tolerated their violence for a couple of decades and now we are having problems enforcing our laws.

And, LadyStClaire, when I was living in Arizona that is what I noticed. They are brazen about committing crimes because they can be across the border in an hour or so. Things simmer down and then they are right back again. I sincerely wished we protected our border the way Mexico does.

That scumbag should be put on Death Row for this-he meant to kill her. At LEAST give him life in prison!!! (Mod Edit)
