Woman killed, 15 others injured in crash near Mexican border

CALEXICO, Calif. (AP) -- Authorities say a woman has been killed and 15 other people injured after a sport utility vehicle rolled while being pursued by Border Patrol agents south of San Diego. Four of the injured are in critical condition.

Investigators suspect the woman who died and the 15 others in the Chevrolet Suburban are illegal immigrants.

The SUV was being chased Sunday morning near Highway 98 west of Calexico near the Mexican border when it flipped over at a curve in the road. Some victims suffered head injuries, broken bones and lacerations.

The crash is under investigation.
