Immigrants held on $500K bond

FAIRFIELD – Bond has been set at $500,000 each for 20 immigrants arrested last week on state charges during a federal immigration raid.
Municipal Judge Joyce Campbell set the high bond during separate hearings Tuesday for the suspects, who hail from Mexico, Peru and Guatemala and were charged with crimes such as identity theft and forgery.
The suspects were among 161 people arrested in a raid at Koch Foods last week.
Butler County Sheriff Rick Jones said two more local businesses remain under investigation for possible immigration violations.
Among the arrestees, 61 were released for “humanitarian reasons,â€

Next will come the ACLU with a law suit alleging that the bond is excessive.

Or their civil rights were violated. What really gets me are those that were let go on "humanitarian" reasons such as they have children. What's this? Another chance for the resurection of Elvira? And the fact that they are told to come back to immigration court is a joke. Just like Elvira was told to. When will they get real about this and stop the mess with anchor babies and deport them all. Hey I'm all for family reuniification as long as it happens in their home country.
