    Wicker Rejects Administration Claim that Legalizing Illegal Immigrants will Help U.S. Economy

    WASHINGTON – Senator Roger Wicker, R-Miss., joined with several colleagues today in rejecting Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano’s claim that legalizing illegal immigrants will help the U.S. economy. Sec. Napolitano addressed immigration reform last Friday during a speech to the Center for American Progress.

    The senators wrote a letter to Napolitano to express disagreement with her statement, “Requiring illegal immigrants to register to earn legal status…will strengthen our economy as these immigrants become fullâ€
