California Republicans: Online Registration Allows Voter Fraud
by JOEL B. POLLAK
30 Nov 2016
The California Republican Party is considering taking legal action to force the State of California to adopt a more secure system for online voter registration, alleging that the current system is too lax and allows for potential voter fraud.
“The [California] secretary of state’s website does not track the IP addresses of the people who register to vote,” Harmeet Dhillon, a former state party official, told the Los Angeles Times. “You could literally register hundreds or thousands of people from the same computer … There is more security on the websites that I shopped on Black Friday than there is on the secretary of state’s website.”
The California GOP has not produced evidence that any voter fraud actually took place through online registration in 2016. Recently, President-elect Donald Trump claimed that “millions” of people had voted illegally nationwide, and said there had been incidents of voter fraud in California, among other states. California’s Democratic Secretary of State, Alex Padilla, took exception to that claim, calling it an “irresponsible attempt to undermine confidence in our elections.”
California’s voting system, however, has been technologically backward for many years. A Pew study in 2014 ranked California 49th out of the 50 states in election administration. The system of online voter registration dates to 2012, well within the scope of the study.
The poor job that the Golden State does in managing voter databases and other election data is ironic, given the fact that the state’s high technology industry leads the world, and that Silicon Valley is a global hub of innovation in database management.
The task of managing voter registration in California is complicated by the fact that the state is home to a high proportion of the nation’s illegal aliens, some of whom volunteered openly for the Hillary Clinton campaign to register others to vote.

California Republican Party Official Alleges Voter Fraud In California
November 28, 2016 6:22 PM By Melissa Caen
SAN FRANCISCO (KPIX 5) — A California Republican Party official echoes Trump with allegations of voter fraud in California.
Over the weekend, Donald Trump tweeted that there was serious voter fraud in California and blamed the media for not reporting about it.
“Serious voter fraud in Virginia, New Hampshire and California – so why isn’t the media reporting on this? Serious bias – big problem!” Trump tweeted.
California Secretary of State Alex Padilla reacted swiftly – issuing a statement late Saturday night saying “it appears that Mr. Trump is troubled by the fact that a growing majority of Americans did not vote for him.”
Padilla said, “I personally think the burden of proof is on Mr. Trump and his team if there is evidence that they have, please bring it forward.”
The California Association of Voting Officials held a press conference outside San Francisco City Hall Monday morning.
They say voting machines in several states were vulnerable to software hacking. The group says they have gathered enough evidence to call for a re-count. They are also calling for the government to replace the current voting machine system.
One officials tells us she has enough proof to take legal action.
Harmeet Dhillon, the RNC Committeewoman from California, said “You bet there’s voter fraud here in California.”
And, she says, there is evidence.
“…There’s the one story that’s been reported of 300 or so ballots showing up on the doorstep of an 83 year old lady in L.A. all addressed to different people with her address,” Dhillon said.
In Riverside County, several Republicans went to vote in the primary and found out that their registration had been switched to Democrat.
In both cases, Dhillon says, the Secretary of State blamed computer glitches.
“I don’t think 300 ballots showing up on the doorstep of an 83 year old is a glitch. I think it’s fraud,” Dhillon said. “…We are thinking of taking legal action.”
Padilla said, “If something formal were to come in, we’re happy to go through the process of investigating and seeing if there’s anything there. But to make these allegations I think is irresponsible at best.”
As for whether it is irresponsible for Trump or other Republicans to make allegations of voter fraud, Dhillon said, “We shouldn’t be like believing in the Tooth Fairy or the Easter Bunny that voter fraud doesn’t occur, it does occur. So I think we need to talk about it and we need to look at reforming our system.”
But don’t look for more restrictive voter rules while Padilla is in charge.
“We err on the side of voting rights and making it easier to participate,” Padilla said.

If a state goes to all mail voting they only need new equipment for the offices.
If they keep polling places they need to buy new equipment for every polling place too.NO AMNESTY
