Cambridge to consider student immigrant resolution

    By Associated Press
    Sunday, August 1, 2010

CAMBRIDGE — Cambridge city councilors are scheduled to vote on a resolution calling for passage of federal legislation that would give illegal immigrant students a path to citizenship if they join the military or finish college.

Christopher Hope, a member of the Cambridge Human Rights Commission and author of the resolution, said councilors are slated Monday to consider the resolution.

The federal proposal, also known as the DREAM Act, would allow young undocumented immigrants to qualify for permanent legal residency by graduating from college or a trade school or by joining the military.

Hope said the Cambridge resolution is important because the city is home to MIT and Harvard University. He says a number of undocumented students plan to address city councilors.

    Is DREAM a RACIST act?

If the main beneficiaries of the DREAM act are Hispanics/Latinos, Mexicans then it is a racist act and should not be allowed (Use the sacred cow of racism to stop the benefits for illegals)

we mostly think about racism as white against brown in the Illegals war but it is just a fantastic protector/shield for illegals and their advocates.

Damn I am in walking distance and am reluctant to go because of some personal problems. It seems typical that they would allow immigration violators who cost the city and state five figures a year without repercussion for their contempt of our immigration law but would give me trouble.
I support enforcement and see its lack as bad for the 3rd World as well. Remittances are now mostly spent on consumption not production assets. Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)
