Illegal Amnesty Would Further Undermine American Workers

Illegal Amnesty Would Further Undermine American Workers

    PR Newswire
    March 23, 2010 Tuesday
    WASHINGTON, D.C.

    New Report from FAIR:

PRNewswire-USNewswire -- As President Obama and the congressional leadership revive efforts to grant amnesty to millions of illegal aliens living in the U.S., a new report from the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) concludes that such policies will severely undermine the interests of American workers.

Amnesty and the American Worker also finds that record levels of immigration during the 2000s - both illegal and government mandated - have added new workers to our labor force faster than our economy has been able to create new jobs.

At a time when some 25 million Americans are either unemployed or involuntarily working part-time, amnesty legislation would legally entitle the estimated 7.5 million illegal aliens in our workforce to keep their current jobs, and compete with distressed American workers for any new jobs that are created.

Proposed legislation, billed as "comprehensive immigration reform," will also increase the flow of legal immigrants who will compete for jobs in the U.S., while offering no concrete initiative for stemming the tide of new illegal immigration.

Among the key findings of Amnesty and the American Worker: Driven by record levels of immigration, the U.S. economy would need to create 100,000 new jobs a month just to maintain current unemployment levels.

The Obama administration optimistically expects its own policies to create only 95,000 new jobs each month.

The U.S. economy has lost about 8.4 million jobs since the onset of the recession.

At current immigration levels, the economy would need to create 400,000 new jobs each month between now and 2013 to return to pre-recession unemployment levels.

Illegal immigration has been the primary factor in the growing income gap in the U.S. and has undermined the economic standing of many of America's working-class families.

Amnesty for illegal aliens will disproportionally harm America's poor and less-skilled workers.

"Advocates for illegal aliens are trying to sell amnesty as a shot in the arm for the U.S. economy," said Dan Stein, president of FAIR.

"Even if the amnesty lobby's assertions are taken at face value, the overall benefit to GDP would amount to about 1 percent a year.

The benefits of that modest increase would accrue almost entirely to the amnestied aliens and their direct employers, while devastating America's most vulnerable workers and will likely be more than offset by huge increases in social costs."

"Amnesty and the American Worker asks the critical questions about a mass illegal alien amnesty that the president and many in Congress refuse to even acknowledge," continued Stein.

"It is unconscionable that at a time of devastatingly high unemployment, our nation's leaders seem determined to forge ahead with legislation without even considering the harm it might cause.

Amnesty and the American Worker provides an in-depth look at the extent to which these policies will drastically hurt millions of American workers," Stein concluded.

    getting wild

    hmmm.

i read and replied to several posts earlier about the deficit, the massive entitlements, commiting 2.3 T on UHC that everybody knows we don't have and can't afford. one reply was that the "silver lining" (full cup) is that the credit score of the US was being downrated from AAA to whatever, and that could slow down the borrowing. Maybe. i certainly hope so (again with the full cup) or maybe we'll just pay more in interest. i went so far as to ask what would happen if the money lenders (China) find out that we're not good risks anymore as if i had some inside info on something they were totally unaware of.

Now the next big thing is to give a free pass to upwards of 15 to 20 million illegals (i mean voters) in the name of "social justice." the documented fact that this will drive us further into bankruptcy doesn't seem to be of any consequence.

Now why would any government make such a move (amnesty), knowing the devasting effect it will have on our economy? well. this morning, driving in my car, it occured to me, it's because IT'S NOT THEIR MONEY. it's our money. concerned that we'll never be able to pay it back? don't be. i don't think they intend to.

i used to work with a bookie, who used to brag, that if you wanted to borrow money from him to place a bet, you would never have to pay it back. just pay the vig (interest). in other words, don't pay me back, just pay me the interest on the loan. sooner rather than later the interest payments on our deficit will exceed what our budget deficit is today. in simple terms; you can never pay back an interest only loan.

What does this have to do with amnesty? well. everything. i am thinking at this point, they just don't care. it's not their money, and if they run out (of money) they will send the IRS to your door to collect more. when that's not enough, or becomes to painful; the money will be printed or borrowed with no intention of ever paying it back. you will be required to pay for their concept of social justice (utopia).

so, the moral of the story, is to just say no. to amnesty. seriously.

    THE END JUSTIFIES THE MEANS

to THEM, amnesty is the means to the end. it's one more step in acquiring complete control over the Economy of the United States. it will make TENS OF MILLIONS OF VOTERS completely dependent on THEM for day to day necessities. once that happens it's all over but the singing and... THEY KNOW IT!

now for the bad news: CONTROL OF THE CENSUS

"The Census Bureau form will not ask if people are citizens. It's goal is to count all people physically present in the country, including large numbers who are here illegally."

"By counting the somewhere between 7 million and 12 million illegal aliens now in the U.S., some states will gain a big advantage when it comes to the reapportionment of congressional seats. One likely potential winner under the new White House rules will be California, which stands to gain nine more seats in Congress than it would if only U.S. citizens were counted. States like Ohio, Louisianna, Michigan and Pennsylvania could be among the losers."

"The net result? The census will become a political football, especially over the issue of sampling, which many experts say is too primitive a tool to be trusted with something as important as the census. And our citizens will feel correctly that their votes have been devalued by the extent of the White House's involvement in the process."

This information is attributed to John Fund, who has served as the Wall Street Journal's deputy editorial features editor, an editorial page writer and a member of the Journal's editorial board. The preceding was excerpted from Fund's latest book, the revised and updated "Stealing Elections: How Voter Fraud Threatens Our Democracy" published by Encounter Books.

    CONTROL OF THE CENSUS

Robert Gibbs, Obama administration press secretary, insists that "historical precedent" exists for the White House to ride close herd on the census, but every living former census director supports a pending bill in Congress to make the Census Bureau an independent agency and further insulate it from politics.

Even the liberal San Francisco Chronicle was apalled at the White House power play: "Allowing Obama politicos like chief of staff Rahm Emanuel--a top House Democrat strategist in his prior life--anywhere near the census adding machine is...a Chicago-style setup that should worry any voter."

When President Obama met with Sen. Gregg at the White House the day before Sen. Gregg's withdrawal from nomination as the head of Department of Commerce, Obama could have simply told him he hadn't known of the White House power grab and claimed that the Census Bureau would continue to report directly to the commerce secretary. But he didn't, and that refusal played a major role in Gregg's decision to withdraw.

It was clear to him that in having to decide between his vaunted new "politics of transparency" and the left-wing pressure groups, Obama had chosen to side with the liberal base of his party.

The result of this maneuvering, according to the Government Accountability Office, will be "serious trouble" for the 2010 census.

I was shocked to see there was nothing in the census asking if people were citizens of the U.S. Neither was there any place to record country of birth. Worthless piece of crap for any future genealogy research and paid for by the screwed taxpayers.

Now there will never be even close to an accurate count of illegals in this country, only the same foolish incorrect estimates.
