$7,500 reward being offered for most wanted fugitive with Starr County ties
Wednesday, May 9th 2018
A $7,500 cash reward is being offered for a man on the Texas 10 Most Wanted List.
Authorities are looking for Andrew Belmontes, 26.
Belmontes, who authorities say, is affiliated with the Texas Chicano Brotherhood gang, has been wanted since September 2017.
We’re told that Belmontes has ties to Starr County, including Roma and Rio Grande City and the Houston area, including Pasadena.
Authorities said back in 2014 Belmontes was convicted in Starr County on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was later released on parole from state prison in June 2017. His last known address was in Roma.
Belmontes is 5’9” tall and weighs approximately 150 pounds. He has tattoos of “BELMONTES” on his back; “TCB” (with a star inside the “B”) on his chest; roman numerals “XX III II” on the inside of his upper right arm; “Flako” on his right forearm; “Andrew” on his upper right arm; and other tattoos on his abdomen, back, chest, neck and both arms. Belmontes may be known by the nickname of “Flako.”
To be eligible for the cash rewards, tipsters MUST provide information to authorities using one of the five following methods:
- • Call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477).
- • Text the letters “DPS” – followed by your tip – to 274637 (CRIMES) from your cell phone.
- • Submit a web tip through the DPS website by selecting the fugitive you have information about, and then clicking on the link under their picture.
- • Submit a Facebook tip by clicking the “SUBMIT A TIP” link (under the “About” section).
- • Submit a tip through the DPS Mobile App. The app is currently available for iPhone users on the Apple App Store and for Android users on Google Play.
All tips are anonymous – regardless of how they are submitted – and tipsters will be provided a tip number instead of using a name.
Do not attempt to apprehend this fugitive; they are considered armed and dangerous.
