ICE agents arrest a Denton County's 'most wanted' fugitive

DALLAS - One of the most wanted criminals in Denton County, Texas, was arrested last week by agents from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Office of Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO), and the Plano, Texas, Police Department.

On July 22 Dallas ICE ERO agents located and arrested Enrique Arias Idelfonso, 35, an illegal alien from Mexico. He was wanted by the Denton County Sheriff's Office. He was also wanted by ICE since he had illegally re-entered the United States after having been deported twice before in August 2005 and 2009. Anyone who re-enters the United States after having been deported commits a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison.

Arias Idelfonso was listed on the Denton County Crime Stoppers website as being one of its "Most Wanted Fugitives" on an outstanding warrant for possessing more than four grams, but less than 200 grams of a controlled substance. (www.DentonCrimeStoppers.com\Wanteds.aspx)

"Our ICE ERO agents routinely work with other law enforcement agencies to help remove criminal aliens from our communities," said Nuria T. Prendes, field office director of the ICE ERO office in Dallas. Prendes oversees 128 counties in north Texas and the State of Oklahoma.

Arias Idelfonso was arrested without incident with the assistance of Plano Police Departments at a local restaurant in the 5800 block of Legacy Circle where he worked as a cook. He had lived in an apartment in the 1300 block of Sherrye Dr. in Plano.

Plano Police Department transferred Arias Idelfonso to Denton County Sherriff's Office on his outstanding criminal warrant. ICE placed a detainer on him so after his criminal proceedings are completed, he will be turned over to ICE ERO. Ultimately, he will be removed back to Mexico. However, beforehand, he may also face charges of illegally re-entering the United States after being deported.

so throw him in jail with two sentences for re-entering, then give him jail time on this charge. he will be in there for a long time
