    Cave Creek passes law banning picking up day laborers

    Town officials in Cave Creek made it official by passing an ordinance that prohibits drivers from stopping along the right of way to hire illegals for work.

    The passing of the ordinance appeases a community tired of the number of day laborers loitering along the town’s main roadway, Cave Creek Road.

    Sheriff Joe Arpaio said his deputies will begin enforcing the new law in 30 days.

    Employers have long used the road to find day laborers who help with construction work. One of the main arguments was that these laborers routinely causes traffic hazards.

    Though this is a start at addressing the DL sites, the illegals will look for another place to hangout, like a Homedepot.
