CBP U.S. Border Patrol Agents Locate Stash House and Seize Drugs and Guns

Yuma, Ariz. – U.S. Border Patrol agents from Yuma Sector seized more than 800 pounds of marijuana as well as several weapons, cell phones, a pickup and other equipment yesterday.

Agents assigned to the Wellton Station were on line watch duties when they located several individuals northeast of Interstate 8 via a mobile surveillance system. The individuals were spotted attempting to hide at a nearby residence between two parked vehicles. Agents investigated and located an individual inside a Red Chevy Silverado pickup filled with marijuana which was on the property. Four subjects were placed under arrest. Agents obtained permission from the land owner to search a nearby abandoned trailer on his property. Agents received consent, and inside the trailer they located two assault rifles, five handguns, cell phones and night vision goggles.

The marijuana, with an estimated street value of $656,800, the subjects, weapons, other equipment, and vehicle were turned over to the Maricopa County Sherriff’s Office.
